Juma Project wins the Best Monitoring and Evaluation on Eco-Index

Dear Juma colleagues, friends and supporters,

Thanks to everyone who help us on building, supporting and implementing the project, we have now another big achievement:

The Juma REDD Project, implemented by FAS - Amazonas Sustainable Foundation, in Novo Aripuanã (AM), was elected by the Eco-Index of the Rainforest Alliance as the best in monitoring and evaluation methodology (category Best Monitoring and Evaluation Methodology).

The Rainforest Alliance is one of the world's most recognized certifications in the forestry projects area, being responsible, among others, for validations by international standards CCBS (Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standard) and VCS (Voluntary Carbon Standard) - two of most used in the world.

"This recognition has special meaning for FAS and reflects the high degree of professionalism and motivation of our team, responsible for designing and implementing the REDD project to Juma," said Virgilio Viana, general superintendent of FAS.
Gabriel Ribenboim, Special Projects Manager, adds that "this recognition is one more element that comes to attest the technical robustness of the Project Juma."
